OVERVIEW
The Philippine Pharmacists Association, Inc. (PPhA, Inc.) National Convention 2025 with the theme PHARMACISTS for a Unified and Sustainable Healthcare, underscores the critical role that pharmacists play in contributing to the overall sustainability of healthcare.
The convention brings together pharmacists from the different fields of practice and other healthcare professionals to discuss challenges, innovative strategies and solutions, shared responsibilities, and the evolving role of pharmacists in promoting health. Plenary Session 1:
Building Sustainability and Resiliency in Pharmacy Practice
This session explores the critical role of pharmacists in fostering a sustainable and resilient healthcare system. Speakers from both international and national organizations will provide perspectives in advancing sustainable healthcare delivery. Additionally, the session will introduce the One Health approach, focusing on pharmacists' contributions to environmental health and the Green Pharmacy Movement, promoting eco-friendly practices within the profession to help achieve optimal health outcomes.
Plenary Session 2:
Transformations in Practice and Setting Standards towards a Sustainable Healthcare
This session focuses on the pivotal transformations shaping pharmacy practice and their role in setting benchmarks for a sustainable healthcare system. Discussions will cover the updated PPhA, Inc. dispensing guidelines, the impact of Filipino immunizing pharmacists on the healthcare system, and the latest developments in the Philippine Practice Standards Version 2.0 (PhiIPSP 2.0). Speakers will also explore the influence of digitization and technology in modernizing the pharmacy practice. Updates on the Philippine Pharmacy Education Roadmap will highlight the alignment of education with evolving Philippine practice standards and sustainability goals.

The break-out sessions will provide a dynamic platform for in-depth discussions and presentations across diverse sectors of pharmacy practice. There will be sharing of best practices in the different practice areas, highlighting the value of pharmacists in enhancing patient safety and care delivery, levelling up ways of working aligned to global standards and leading efforts for collaboration with healthcare partners and other stakeholders.
Plenary Session 3:
Regulators Forum: Strengthening Collaboration for Effective Pharmaceutical Regulations
This plenary session brings together regulators and key stakeholders to discuss strategies for enhancing collaboration in pharmacy regulation. The forum will highlight best practices from regulatory authorities within Asia, such as innovative approaches and successful frameworks. The FDA-Philippines will present updates on new regulatory policies, reflecting the evolving landscape of pharmacy practice and ensuring alignment with global standards. The session will culminate with a commitment pledge from all healthcare stakeholders, reinforcing a unified effort to uphold regulatory excellence and advance pharmacy practice towards impactful healthcare outcomes.

Holistic Professional Growth for a Relevant Pharmacy Career
This session will emphasize the imporatance of cultivating both personal and professional growth where participants will gain insights from presentations and discussions to equip pharmacists with essential skills and knowledge for maintaining relevant careers. The Philippine Pharmacists Association, Inc. (PPhA) stands as the sole Professional Regulation Commission (PRC)-accredited, integrated national organization representing Filipino Pharmacists.
